New Core Area Connections hub set to enhance engagement and communication

Posted on Tuesday December 01, 2020

The City of Cambridge’s Economic Development team has launched a new web page to connect core area businesses, residents and stakeholders with timely information on the programs and projects that matter to them. The Core Area Connections page will bring together targeted information, upcoming events and public engagement opportunities for Preston, Galt and Hespeler, to better allow the community to keep track of core area developments and happenings.

“We recognize that vibrant, healthy core areas are fundamental building blocks of exceptional cities,” said Cambridge Mayor Kathryn McGarry. “And creating a space where people can learn more about and celebrate our core area communities will only enhance Cambridge’s strong sense of place.”

The new page will serve as a main hub to bring the city’s three unique core areas together. Residents will be able to subscribe to the page to receive timely updates when new developments happen. Core area businesses are also encouraged to visit the page for information on economic supports, programs and incentives, and area safety.

“The focus of this page is connection; connecting our stakeholders and community with the information they need about events and developments that will impact our core areas,” says James Goodram, Director of Economic Development. “The goal is for people to see a broader picture of things happening across all our core areas, so they are able to easily have their finger on the pulse of our downtowns.”
