City Receives International Award for Digital Projection Show at the Old Post Office

Posted on Monday April 01, 2019

Late last week the City of Cambridge was awarded a silver APEX Award at the Digital Signage Expo in the Public Spaces category for the digital projection mapping and content on the Idea Exchange Old Post Office building.  This project was nominated for its creativity and community impact.

The City of Cambridge launched the digital projection show in July 2018 with light shows being projected onto the Old Post Office digital library building.  The various light shows have quickly become a community attraction and are regularly scheduled throughout the summer, fall, and holiday season before a break at the beginning of the year. The community lights shows are set to return in May.

The APEX Award winners are honoured for their innovation, recognizing achievement in the installation of digital displays, interactive technology and the creation of compelling content.

The 2019 APEX Awards of Gold, Silver and Bronze were awarded to entries in a total of 12 categories from a field of 112 entrants from 13 countries. The APEX Award winners were announced at the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada last week.
