Digital Lights Downtown Galt

Cambridge is located within the Region of Waterloo and has a population of approximately140,850 (2020). Cambridge's founding communities have such a rich history that locals often refer to themselves as being from Hespeler, Galt or Preston, despite amalgamation creating the City of Cambridge in 1973. Our three city centres have a historic feel, due in part to the Scottish masons who constructed many of the limestone buildings now occupied by shops, restaurants and business services in our core areas. Local heritage structures are important to our community and we take steps to protect, preserve and promote them.
